# Guillaume Brousse

> Freelance AI engineer & full-stack developer, based in Angoulême, France. Available for freelance work: AI in production (LLM agents, RAG, model integration), web platforms and websites.

I spent seven years building software for companies in Auckland, about as far from France as you can get without leaving the planet. Now I'm back in France, in Angoulême, working for myself. So instead of a timeline, here's a tunnel.

## Now

- Oct 2026–now: Freelancer, solopreneur, Angoulême, France. Back on my own, with everything the tunnel taught me. I help teams put AI into production and build the platforms around it: client portals, document generation, integrations, and websites that load fast.

## Experience (most recent last)

- 2015: C++ & Arduino developer, Skeyetech (France). Built a 3-axis gimbal controller for a drone: a custom PCB, an encrypted wireless link, a C++ control interface and OpenCV object tracking on live video.
- 2016: Project lead, Symfony, NEXEYA (France). Led a team of two developers building an internal skills-management site in Symfony, run in Scrum with Jira and Trello.
- 2016–2018: Master's degree, Bordeaux Ynov Campus (Bordeaux, France). Two years of study, with production Symfony code shipping on the side the whole time.
- 2015–2018: Symfony developer, UBJ (France). A rugby statistics dashboard: live match data, visualisations and the data model behind them.
- 2016–2018: Symfony developer, Parking Facile (Bordeaux, France). A parking platform built from scratch: Symfony APIs, admin and customer apps, an Ionic mobile app, and Stripe, Twilio, Mailjet and Slack integrations. Page loads dropped by 60%.
- 2017–2023: Founder, side project, Mylittlevineyard (Charente, France). Software for running a vineyard and a distillery. Built it, then maintained it for six years.
- 2018–2019: Symfony developer, SIBLU (Bordeaux, France). A holiday booking platform in the Booking.com mould, on Symfony API Platform, React and Firebase.
- 2019–2021: Software engineer, Serato (Auckland, New Zealand). DJ software used worldwide. Ran the API services behind it (Braintree, Zendesk, ActiveCampaign, Slack), the AWS infrastructure, and moved a legacy Magento store onto a REST API.
- 2020–2021: Senior engineer, freelance, Postumo (Auckland, New Zealand). Vue.js apps with payments and admin tooling, REST APIs on Strapi, and Stripe, Zendesk and S3 integrations.
- 2021–2023: Senior software engineer, Les Mills International (Auckland, New Zealand). Front end of digital fitness platforms used around the world (React, Gatsby, TypeScript), a serverless back end on AWS Lambda, and subscriptions through Google Play, Amazon and Braintree. Brought Shape Up to the team.
- 2022: Senior software engineer, Sherbet (Auckland, New Zealand). Web3: Solidity smart contracts on Ethereum, a Node and GraphQL API on Lambda, and the Vue and React apps on top.
- 2023–Sep 2024: Senior software engineer, Onit (Auckland, New Zealand). Joined as a contractor and stayed. Brought TypeScript into the codebase, built serverless APIs on AWS, set up CI/CD and test automation, and shipped the first AI integrations.
- Sep 2024–Apr 2026: Principal AI engineer, Onit (Auckland, New Zealand (remote from Bordeaux)). Designing and shipping AI features in production on OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models, including fine-tuning. AWS microservices in Node and TypeScript, React and Next.js front ends, and the team's playbook for putting LLMs in front of real users.
- Apr–Sep 2026: Forward deployed engineer, Onit (Auckland, New Zealand (remote from Bordeaux)). Out of the lab and into the field: working directly with Onit's customers to get its AI into their real workflows, from integration and deployment to turning what they need into product.
